Hartmut Ritzerfeld was trained as a window dresser from 1965 to 1968 before studying with Joseph Beuys (painting, object and action art) and Karl Kneidl (stage design) from 1969 to 1976 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. Hartmut Ritzerfeld was trained as a window dresser from 1965 to 1968 before studying with Joseph Beuys (painting, object and action art) and Karl Kneidl (stage design) from 1969 to 1976 at the Düsseldorf Art Academy.
